I grew up in Boston, went to school at Stanford and studied electrical engineering, and now live in San Francisco. Some things I love are: spontaneous adventures to "I know a spot" places, films (and film scores) that make me laugh or cry (anything by Chris Nolan, Hans Zimmer, or Ramin Djawadi), airplanes and the Oshkosh airshow, jazz, sci-fi (Neal Stephenson, Three Body Problem), short stories (Ted Chiang), and science history.
From 2022 to early 2025 I worked at Until, building hardware to enable reversible cryopreservation of brain tissue and organs. Now, I'm exploring new ideas in neurotechnology, biology, and AI.
I like to write about these things, and you can find this writing on my Substack or here on this website.
My email is dhruv.sumathi@gmail.com. Please reach out if you want to talk about any of the above, or about something completely unrelated.
